Robin I. H. Mason

Robin has practiced corporate and commercial law for nearly 25 years. He provides advice and service at all stages of the life cycle of a business: start up, maintenance, expansion, internal reorganization and, ultimately, family succession, wind-up or sale.  And, along the way, he’s the go-to person for senior employees and business owners as they navigate the complexities of the Canadian legal landscape.

Registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office as a Trademark Agent since 1994, Robin advises the firm’s corporate and individual business clients on the viability of registering Canadian trademarks, drafts and files trademark applications, and researches and prepares responses to objections received from the Registrar of Trademarks in response to trademark applications.

Robin received his undergraduate degree from Trent University in 1983 and, after working for a major Canadian bank, obtained his law degree from Queen’s University in 1991. He articled and was an associate lawyer with one of the largest law firms in Toronto before deciding to move to Durham Region in 1994 to found, with Patrick Bennett, what has become Mason Bennett Johncox.

He has lived in Brooklin since 1994 with his wife and their three children, and is the author of the children’s fantasy book series, “The Oldenglen Chronicles”, the first of which was written with his father.
